2019...BRING IT ON!

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome 2019. I say this because I have a feeling that it’s going to be a good year. The last few years have been very difficult for me personally but each one has slightly improved on the last so I’m confident that this one will top 2018.

January is one of my favourite times of the year because I’m always full of optimism for the year ahead, the difference this year is that I feel I am actually in the right place mentally to live the life of which I spend so many hours daydreaming.

The new year is traditionally a time to have a good clear out but instead of doing it physically I’m getting rid of all the mental clutter. Learning to ditch the people and habits that are toxic and finding peace within is really important to me now.

I’m not one for resolutions, I’m not setting any unrealistic goals and I’m certainly not going on a diet (mainly because I still have half a Christmas cake to consume!) but I am learning to accept the things I can’t change and am going with the flow rather than fighting against it. I’ve been really quite pleasantly surprised by the results. Who knew, meditation and positive thinking actually works!!

I’m starting 2019 as I mean to go on with a clear head and a real sense of how I want to live my life.

It’s not rocket science. I’m going to do more of what makes me happy: painting, reading, yoga and, new for this year, horse riding. I want to get out to the country more (I’m still on the lookout for the dream cottage!) and just be.

I want to spend time with people who share my interests rather than fitting in with others. This means making new friends so I’m going to be more interactive on social media, go to more events and actually talk to people.

I am going to try living an Ayurvedic lifestyle and eat according to my body type. I hate cooking so it’s not going to be easy but I think I could live on a curry based diet!

I may even get the tattoo I’ve been boring my friends about for the last three years!

Whatever happens I am determined to make 2019 my personal best. I’m going to be 42 at the end of this month and that is, of course, the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

Let’s go!

Kx
