FAVOURITE FINDS @ PULSE 2016

So, having recovered from my little Fangirl moment at the ShopTalk session at Pulse earlier this week, I went on a wander around the rest of the show to see what new and exciting products I could find to share with you.

There is still a lot of love for the woodland animal (not really my thing) and geometrics but staying true to my blog philosophy I'm only putting things on here that I really loved and would want in my own home.

The first stand that caught my eye was that of Hackney-based ceramicist, Melina Xenaki.

These vases decorated with brush strokes are just stunning in their simplicity.  There's something about this inky style (I hate the word 'painterly'!) that makes me want to get out my brushes and do some mark-making.  I just love them!

There must be something in the air as I'm having a blue moment! It's not a colour I have a lot of in my home but, like the vases above, the new Mums and Roses pattern from screenprint queens Thornback & Peel really stood out.

It reminds me a little of the old-fashioned Toile de Jouy patterns, re-imagined for the contemporary country home. Featuring a bold Chrysanthemum offset by the more delicate Dog Rose, this future country classic is available across a range of textiles including tea towels, aprons, napkins and pot-holders.

Ok, floral and blue? Yes, it took me a little by surprise too! So, before I lose my identity entirely and start questioning who I really am, here's something that's more obviously me.

Yes! It's a bright pink bohemian floor cushion from Bombay Duck. Phew, I feel normal again!  Anything in my favourite shade of pink always grabs my attention and I couldn't resist this.  I need it in my life.  Like, right now.

Finally, I have written previously about the quality these days of faux flowers but these are almost as good as, if not better than, the real thing.

“I’m thinking of investing in some top quality faux-liage”

Although almost purely wholesale, Grand Illusions supply over 500 stockists across the UK and Ireland so finding one near you shouldn't be too difficult.  I am a sucker for fresh flowers in the home and spend a small fortune every so often at Columbia Road flower market but now I'm thinking of investing in some top quality faux-liage (see what I did there!) that will last more than a week or two.

So, there you have it.  I hope I have inspired you to find something new for your home.

I'm off to work out how I can get that delicious floor cushion to work with a minimal grey and white rustic Scandi scheme...

Kx
