COULD DULUX'S COLOUR OF THE YEAR MAKE YOUR HOME A MONEY MAGNET?

“Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune in to”
— Dr Wayne Dyer

Would you go as far as redecorating your home to improve your chances of manifesting abundance? If so, Dulux’s Colour of the Year for 2023 could be the perfect choice.

When Wild Wonder was unveiled in September last year I have to admit I felt quite the opposite: mild disappointment at a colour that I had zero resonance with meant that it quickly left my sphere of influence. However, I feel I may have been a little too quick to dismiss it. While brainstorming for a post about the best colours to use for manifesting wealth and abundance, this golden green popped back in to my mind and I realised it could actually be THE ideal hue for creating a home that attracts it.

The Colour of Money

Green and gold have been synonymous with wealth, luck and prosperity throughout history and are the go-to colours for branding any business that is finance or luxury-related. It may seem obvious: gold has been used as a form of currency since the 7th century BC and is still considered the most valuable commodity to trade with. Money in paper form is commonly represented by wads of ‘greenbacks’, the colloquial term for the US dollar. Fun fact: when the US federal government began printing paper bills in the late 19th century, green was chosen as the best colour ink to prevent counterfeiting and has remained to this day.

Fields of Gold

Dulux’s Wild Wonder is classified as a warm neutral, a versatile shade with an organic ability to transform throughout the day according to the light. It can be used as a backdrop for vibrant raspberry tones or to harmonise a more natural palette but when it comes to manifesting abundance it will set the mood all by itself. I immediately associated it with fields of barley as it has a slightly earthy undertone but Marianne Shillingford, Dulux’s Creative Director, hit the nail on the head when she described it as ‘the colour of a dried cardamom pod’. In terms of manifesting abundance this is a great comparison - green cardamom is one of the most expensive spices by weight and the third most expensive after saffron and vanilla.

How To Use It To Manifest Abundance

Decorating with Wild Wonder will give your home a warm glow and promote feelings of positivity and plenitude that are essential to manifesting. Dulux’s ‘Lush’ palette (shown) is a nod to the natural abundance of forests and gardens. It is a perfect foil for vibrant or emerald greens - another symbol of affluence.

If covering an entire room seems excessive, try painting one wall or even using it in some artwork. Amplify the effect by determining your home’s abundance corner according to feng shui and use it there. In addition, use gold accessories and maybe position a money plant in this zone. In my own abundance corner I have a bowl full of coins and one of my Abundance Mini Manifesting paintings. A water feature of Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, ensures a continuous flow of good fortune.

So far it hasn’t let me own but I might add a splash of Wild Wonder just to give it an extra boost!

Will you be trying it?
