DULUX COLOUR OF THE YEAR 2020

A new decade heralds a fresh start - at least so says Dulux, which is why they have chosen Tranquil Dawn as their Colour of the Year for 2020.

This soft, green/grey sits somewhere between mint and sage and represents the '“growing desire to understand what makes us human,” according to Heleen van Gent, Head of AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Centre.

In an attempt to unite an “increasingly disconnected” modern society this choice reminds us to take time out and appreciate what we have. Taking influence from the colours of a hazy early morning, Tranquil Dawn is a calming, comforting shade which sits easily in the four palettes that Dulux has curated.

It is a colour for reflection, gratitude and most importantly it is very similar to the colour I painted my bathroom last Christmas.
