HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT - THE SECRET TO MANIFESTING (PART 2)
“When you take spiritually aligned action, your desires will be supported in ways you couldn’t ever have imagined.”
One of the finished paintings I was commissioned to create.
I know, I know. You probably thought I was never going to get round to writing this post and to be honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to either. I do have a nasty habit of starting things and not finishing them but I am aware of the problem and I’m working on it, I promise!
So. Manifesting. In part one of this post I explained how letting go led to a remarkable chain of events that convinced me that this shit is real. However, there is another key component to manifesting which is crucial but is one that most people seem to ignore: taking aligned action.
As I mentioned previously, sales had been slow and I felt like I was getting nowhere with pitching my article ideas. Within a couple of days of surrendering and getting that tattoo, two incredible things happened: I got commissioned to create 5 large bespoke paintings AND to write an article for the magazine that was at the top of my list. The skeptics among you will say that it was just coincidence but The Universe works to its own schedule and in this instance it could not have been more perfect!
“It’s a common misconception that all you have to do is to think about your dream and it will magically appear.”
Divine timing aside, I believe that both were the result of me not only ‘setting and forgetting’ but also by taking the necessary steps required to make them happen. Manifesting is not simply about wishing and hoping. It’s a common misconception that all you have to do is to think about your dream and it will magically appear. Getting clear on what you want to to manifest is important (and visualising is a key part of that) but here’s the thing: you do actually have to do something!
The sat-nav analogy is the perfect example: let’s say you want to go to the coast for the day. You pack up a picnic hamper, get the bucket and spade and put your cossie on under your clothes in preparation (just me?), all the while imagining the warm feeling of the sun on your face. You can hear the waves gently lapping at the shore and smell the salty air. You get in the car, tap the destination into the GPS and…you just sit there. Nothing happens. Of course, nothing will until you turn the key in the ignition and start driving. This is how manifesting and the Law of Attraction really works - by taking aligned action. You can set the destination but unless you actually get moving you won’t reach your goals. When you synchronise your thoughts with your behaviour, THAT’S when things get interesting. I have come up with a handy way for you to remember this:
Align Thoughts, Take Real ACTION
By showing the Universe that you are fearless and motivated to make things happen you’re saying that you’re worthy - and ready - to receive the abundance it has waiting for you, but you have to meet it halfway. To get the painting commission I started a conversation and followed up. For the magazine article, I was determined: I had actually been pitching for 6 months before finally getting accepted and even then I had to chase it up a few times but my persistence paid off. If I hadn’t been proactive in both instances, if I had just sat there wishing someone would want some artwork or sent one pitch and hoped for the best, neither would have manifested. It takes practice and patience but co-creating means letting go and having faith that you will attract what you desire exactly when you are supposed to. Relinquishing control will propel you forward and allow you to take the aligned action you need to, with the energy of grace and peace that matches the vibrational frequency of the Universe.
I have put a few other desires out in to the ether and I can’t wait to share them with you when they happen. They may take a while but I know they will. I’ve done it before so I can do it again!
