THE ASTONISHING TRUTH ABOUT COLOUR (IT’S A GAME-CHANGER!)

“Colour is where our brain and the Universe meet.”
— Paul Cézanne

Want me to blow your mind? Colour isn’t real. 🤯

Our ability to see colour evolved because it is useful, but it doesn’t really exist. What we see is merely how our brains perceive wavelengths of light which, over thousands of years, has ensured our survival. For example, we know when a banana is not ready to eat (green), when it is ripe (yellow) and when it’s basically mush and devoid of nutrients (brown) - something which, in our hunter-gatherer days was extremely helpful. It still influences our choices and decisions on a daily basis (whether we realise it or not) but our perception of colour is something we largely take for granted today. However, the ancient wisdom of colour symbolism and its role in manifestation has been utilised for centuries across various cultures. When you know how, it can be a powerful tool to help you manifest your deepest desires, allowing you to embody and amplify your emotions for an effective manifestation practice.

Colour is so much more than just a visual experience. It has the power to significantly impact our emotions, thoughts and mood. Colour is not just a random arrangement of hues; it carries energy and vibration that can influence our lives in profound ways. Each colour represents a specific frequency on the electromagnetic spectrum and when we get intentional and consciously engage with different colours, we tap into their energetic properties. By understanding colour as visible energy, we can use it to enhance our manifestation practice.

The Emotional Spectrum

Emotions play a vital role in the manifestation process. They are like fuel that propels our desires forward. Colours have the ability to evoke and amplify specific emotions within us. There are no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ colours per se, but we each have our own individual response to colour based on our experiences which can trigger either positive or negative responses. For instance, warm colours like red and orange can ignite passion and excitement for some while others may see them as angry and aggressive. Green is the colour of life and natural abundance but conversely it can represent jealousy and greed. A cool colour like blue can evoke calmness and tranquility but for me it increases feelings of anxiety and unease. By intentionally selecting colours that resonate with the emotions related to your desires, and learning to work with them on an energetic level you can supercharge your manifestation practice. Equally, recognising which colours you have an aversion to and working to release any mental blocks around them can open up a whole new avenue for your manifesting.

One of my goals is to be able to use my voice more and become a better speaker. Blue is the colour that represents the throat chakra and so it is no surprise that I have always struggled to speak up because of the negative connotations I have subconsciously given it. I have no blue anywhere in my environment! By becoming aware of this I am now working to clear these obstacles by incorporating more blue in to my workspace so that the energy can flow and I can learn to express myself fully and freely.

Choosing Colours for Specific Desires

When it comes to manifesting, different desires require different emotional energies. Learning how to tap in to the right frequency and knowing which colours to work with - and which to avoid - can amplify your practice. Here are a few examples of desires and their corresponding colour associations:

Love and Relationships: Pink, representing love and compassion, can be used to manifest harmonious relationships and attract soulmates. Orange is also useful as it is the colour that represents the sacral chakra where our sexual energy and desire comes from.

Abundance and Prosperity: The vibrant, life-giving hues of green symbolise luck and prosperity, making them ideal for manifesting abundance. Gold is also a good colour to work with for financial wealth, for obvious reasons.

Health and Healing: Shades of dark blue are known for their calm, soothing properties, making them perfect for manifesting good health and well-being.

Incorporating Colour into Your Manifestation Rituals

Once you understand the connection between colour and emotions, and their significance, you can begin to integrate them into your manifestation rituals. Here are a few easy ways to do so:

Visualisation: During your meditation practice, imagine surrounding yourself with light in the colour that corresponds with how you want to feel. Imagine the energy of the colour filling your entire being, aligning you with your desires.

Affirmations: Infuse your affirmations with the power of colour by writing or speaking them while focusing on the associated hue. Harness the energy further by including the name of the colour, for example “Orange ignites my enthusiasm and inspires me to take bold action.” This will enhance their impact on your subconscious mind.

Colorful Altars and Displays: Create an altar or display dedicated to what you are wanting to manifest, incorporating objects or images that represent the color associated with your intentions. Surrounding yourself with these visual reminders will allow them to sink into your subconscious and can help you to easily get back on track when you feel out of alignment.

Colour is a powerful tool that can transform your manifestation practice and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ll be delving deep in to the fascinating word of colour in forthcoming posts, there’s so much to explore! In the meantime I encourage you to experiment with different shades and combinations to find what resonates with you. Remember that manifesting with colour is a deeply personal and creative process so trust your intuition and allow the vibrant energy of colour to guide you on your manifestation journey.
